How TrueComfort Heating & Air Eliminated Warranty Denials

A Phoenix HVAC contractor was losing warranty fights and burning trips on wrong parts. Commissioning photos fixed both.

How TrueComfort Heating & Air Eliminated Warranty Denials

TrueComfort Heating & Air installs and services residential HVAC across the Phoenix valley — a market where a failed compressor in July is a very unhappy phone call.

"Twice we had manufacturers deny a warranty claim because they suspected improper installation," says owner Ray Okafor. "We knew we'd charged it right and set the airflow right — but 'we know' isn't 'we can prove.' Those denials came straight out of our pocket."

The challenge

Two problems compounded each other: warranty denials TrueComfort couldn't contest, and service techs rolling trucks without knowing what equipment was actually on site — leading to wrong parts and second trips.

The change: document every install and commissioning

Every install now gets a documented record — old equipment before removal, line sets and electrical before they're covered, a photo of every model and serial plate, and the commissioning readings (charge, static pressure, temperature split) time-stamped on the job.

The results

The startup readings are our warranty shield. The manufacturer sees the system was set up right, and the conversation's over.
